I’m bad about printing or updating our family pictures around the house. Even worse about going through the pics and sorting them on the computer. After weeks of busy weekends, we finally got to enjoy a day hanging together as a family at the house. We watched a movie, had big midday family meal, played games, even danced!
Ever do that thing where you stand in front of the fridge with the doors wide open, aimlessly looking inside for some glimmer of hope as to what you could get on the table for dinner in less time than you really have? Like peering inside will magically make a roast that should have been started 45 minutes ago appear in your oven? Listen babe…it never works! I have tried so many times. That fridge will mock you, smirk and giggle and still no dinner!
I am out of shape. There! I’ve said it out loud! All my muscle is going away and being replaced by giggly bits. I don’t like giggly bits. Argh! Reason being is that my middle schooler transferred to a new school that’s about 10 miles from my house and that means 10 miles from the GYM. It takes us about 20-30 minutes to get to school each day and I can’t backtrack home just to get a workout. For a while there, I was running 6 plus miles after drop off but things got busy or weather got nasty, and now its getting chillier. I’m 6’1″ and my body does not love love love running. I’m a weights girl, tried and true, loyal to the end. Love me some weights! Which means… I need a new gym to call home.
It’s Sunday and my kiddos are hungry for breakfast! During the weekend, I do my best to make hearty breakfasts but also give myself a huge advantage for the upcoming week. I’ve said this before, if you’re making something that takes more than 20 minutes, MAKE EXTRA TO FREEZE!!! That goes for breakfast goods too like biscuits, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, and…drumroll…Waffles (give it up, you knew where I was going with this, smarty pants!). No matter what flavor: banana-nut (any banana too ripe to eat goes into a freezer bag in the freezer), pumpkin chocolate chip, or today’s cinnamon nut, waffles are great buds with the freezer. Hello? Ever heard of Eggo? But these are so much healthier and more satisfying.
