Blueberry Ginger Smoothie & How To Clean Your Blender
Blueberries and ginger combine with fruit, chia seeds, and spinach to make this smoothie ZING! Great for breakfast, snacks or post-workout pick me up. Plus our easy clean up tips!
My two older kiddos have decided to take a break from year round swimming to try a new sport. After my car consistently smell like chlorine for the past 3 years and having an array of Speedos hanging to dry from any surface possibly in the laundry room, I’m not gonna argue with them.
I swam for many many years growing up (so much so, I was sure I would still have goggle or t-back tan lines till I was 80…but somehow beat the system! It’s a gift!). I would be thrilled if one of them chose swimming in the long run, but at they need to try new things and see what clicks.
So after much discussion, description, research (have I mentioned how analytical my monkeys are?) they have chosen… Drumroll…
LACROSSE!! Considering how they are both walking brains and, in no way, aware of the athletic ability their soon to be forcefully strong bodies have to offer, I was amazed at their choices! My 12 year old son will be 6’5″-6’7″ and my daughter will creep seriously close to 6′. Both have no clue how to use their size to their advantage… but I’m looking forward to that moment when it all clicks. Gonna be fun to see!
So no more dropping them both of at the same time for the same co-ed swim practice during the same 1 1/2 hr window. Oh no sir! Easy street is a far away place now. If I squint hard I might still be able to see it in the far off distance. Our weeknight and Saturdays will consist of separate 2 hour practices and games along with pads, cleats, helmets, sticks, balls running a muck in my garage. Joy! Forget I complained before about swimsuits drying in the laundry room… Never know what you got till its gone, right?
So I’m keeping them on the go, energized, and Big Mama needs all the help she can get too. Smoothies are becoming our mainstream snack of choice. Most are green but today I treated them to something blue and sweet and with an unexpected KICK…Ginger!
