Straw Hat: A Spicy Rum Cocktail

Take a sip of our Straw Hat cocktail and be transported to a lounge chair on some beach, somewhere.

My hubs has a sweeter tooth than I do, especially when it comes to cocktails! Last night I found him face down, crashed on the bed, diagonally splayed out and feet going the wrong direction. The man was out cold and he hadn’t even had a single cocktail. He was just plum WORE OUT. He’s been so busy with work and kids new school schedule and my business taking off that it has taken its toll and he’s pooped. It made me think that I wish he could get a mini-vacay and that’s when I thought of his “on the beach” cocktail love language.

Straw Hat Cocktail

Rum + Fruit= My Happy Husband. Today’s cocktail will be waiting for him to end his week in a happy place when he gets home. High Proof Spiced Rum combined with a spicy shrub (Bittermen’s Hellfire Habanero Shrub), sweet Triple Sec, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Served over crushed ice, he’ll feel like he’s sitting on the beach in a “Straw Hat” watching the waves break.

Straw Hat Cocktail

You will feel like you're sitting on the beach in a “Straw Hat” watching the waves break.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Spiced Rum
  • 3/4 oz Triple Sec
  • 1 tsp Bittermens Hellfire Habanero Shrub
  • 1 oz Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice

Instructions

  • Mix ingredients and pour over ice.
